Chung Ying Central offers the famous Chung Ying Chinese sharing banquets in a modern and contemporary environment while being conveniently located on Colmore Row, in the heart of the Birmingham’s Business district.

Chung Ying Central specialise in dim sum, Oriental themed cocktails and houses a large selection of Oriental beers. Despite only being opened since late 2013, it has already won a number of awards, including the 2016 Birmingham Mail’s Best Restaurant and the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Venue of the year in 2015.

Our total seated capacity is 85 guests. We have two distinct areas; the main area of the restaurant can seat over 50 guests and our very popular raised area, with window seating, can seat 24 guests. Our most popular table is table 200, opposite our bar, which can seat up to 10 guests.

Named after the 1736 Gin tax, which required anyone producing or selling Gin to pay a £50 tax. Think premium Bombay sapphire but this Gin has been distilled four times which makes it equally lovely served by itself over ice or as a Gin and tonic. Garnish with a ledge of lime.

Cotswold Dry Gin

Voted best London Dry Gin at the 2016 World Gin Awards. This Gin uses a blend of nine local botanicals including lavender and Bay leaf. A delicious Gin served on its own over ice or served as a classic G&T or Gin Martini. Garnish with a slice of orange.

Daffy’s Gin

A Scottish Gin which utilises Lebanese Mint as it’s magical ingredient. This Gin has a creamy mouth feel, even more pleasurable as the Lebanese Mint characteristic just dissipates on your palate. Fun Fact the lady on the bottle is the distiller’s wife and was illustrated by the artist behind the breakfast at Tiffany’s movie poster, Robert McGinnis. Garnish with a wedge of lime and a sprig of mint.

Death Doors – USA

A rear beast in the Gin world as it only uses 3 botanical, Juniper, Coriander and Fennel. Everything about this Gin from the bottle to the base sprit to the botanicals are all produced locally (and in the case of the botanicals organically) in Wisconsin. Garnish with a stick of celery or slice of fennel. 

Hammer & Son Old English Gin

Votes as the world’s best Gin in 2015 by the World Gin Awards. Made to an authentic 1700’s recipe with a nod towards the old Tom style of Gin (so it is slightly sweeter). Ideal as a base for making cocktail. Garnish with lemon.

Warner Edwards Harrington Dry Gin

Produced by university friends Tom Warner and Sion Edwards, in a converted barn and utilising a naturally occurring spring. Their award winning Harrington Dry Gin is quite a spicy affairs with aromas of nutmeg and pepper. This Gin is used as the base for the rest of their Gin Range. Garnish with a slice of orange.
